A CENTRAL Queensland police officer accused of pointing her service pistol at a sergeant has been stood down from duty.

The 28-year-old constable will work in a non-operational role while her actions are investigated by detectives from regional office.

The Ethical Standards Command will overview the investigation, into allegations of inappropriately handling her service firearm and assault while off-duty.

She is among more than 30 officers currently stood down or suspended by the Queensland Police Service.

Last week two police from the North Coast region were stood down – one for suspected drink-driving and the other for allegedly providing information to local media.
